Prescriptions and how we ship

Contact lenses are a restricted medical device. Under the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act and the Federal Trade Commission's Contact Lens Rule (16 CFR Part 315), we sell lenses only in accordance with a valid prescription for you, and only in one of two ways:

  • You present the prescription. Upload a photo or PDF at checkout, or send it to us afterwards by email or text. We keep it on file for at least three years, as the rule requires.
  • Your prescriber verifies it. We send your eye doctor the lens details you gave us, the quantity, your name and address, and our contact details. Your doctor has eight business hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, federal holidays excluded, in the doctor's time zone) to respond. If the doctor confirms the prescription, corrects it, or does not respond in that time, we fill the order as confirmed or corrected. If the doctor tells us the prescription is expired, inaccurate or otherwise invalid, we do not ship and we refund you in full.

We never alter a prescription. We fill exactly the brand, power, base curve and diameter prescribed. We do not substitute brands, except an identical lens sold by the same manufacturer under another label where the rule allows it. We do not ship against an expired prescription; prescriptions are valid for at least one year from issue, or longer where your state provides.

Nothing ships until one of the two happens. If you paid by card and we cannot fill the order, the full amount is refunded to the same card. If we have not received your prescription within 14 days of your order, we cancel and refund it.

Lenses are for your use as prescribed. See your eye doctor for any discomfort, redness or change in vision, and follow the wearing schedule prescribed.
